The user’s inbox will allow them to search, view, archive or trash messages from administrators* and system notifications.
(Check with the tech lead. There was discussion around letting standard users send messages, but we cannot test this at the moment due to a bug for standard users viewing the inbox.)
Searching messages
Users can search their inbox by entering words or phrases into the search field. The search will return results of messages which contain the term in the message subject.
Received messages
Users can view a preview of their messages in the list view. This list entry allows the user to see the sender’s details, the message subject, the date of the message, and a preview of the message body.
The rows containing bold text indicate “unread” messages. A message will be marked as “read” when you click on it in the inbox to view its full details. A message cannot be marked unread after it’s been opened.
The badge notification next to the “Received” tab heading informs the user of how many unread messages are in their inbox.
Archived and trashed messages
A message can be archived or trashed from the ellipsis on the list view or the buttons within the message detail view. Both sent and received messages can be archived and trashed.
Archived messages
Users can archive a message if they want to retain it for reference but remove it from their inbox. Archive messages can be accessed from the “Archived” tab in the inbox.
A message can be restored to the inbox or trashed from the ellipsis on the list view or the buttons within the message detail view.
The badge notification next to the “Archived” tab heading informs the user of how many archived messages they have in total.
Trashed messages
Users can trash a message if they no longer need it. After 30 days*, the message will be permanently deleted.
A message can be recovered to the inbox, archived or permanently deleted from the ellipsis on the list view or the buttons within the message detail view.
The badge notification next to the “Trash” tab heading informs the user of how many archived messages they have in total.

Sent messages
System administrators* can access a “Sent” messages tab to review the messages they have sent to users.
Users can search for messages they have sent by entering words or phrases into the search field. The search will return results of messages which contain the term in the message subject.
Users can view more details of their messages by clicking on them. In addition to the details of the message that was sent, the user can track how many organisations were selected to receive the message, how many users received the message as a result, and the current “read rate”, which is expressed as a percentage.
The sent message lists the individual users who received the message and details whether they have read it.
